August 2011 Fires

Ah, I remember. I was out there, too, but in the Absarokas and working around a fire out there.

Wow those are some cool pictures! The sky looks orange in some of them! You must have breathed in a lot of smoke!

The smoke stayed high most of the afternoon. By sunset, it was settling in the valley where I was spending the night, but I was in a car and pretty sheltered. By dawn, the smoke had risen again and I was able to do some peaks, but by the time I got back to the car, the smoke had settled again and the breathing was getting bad. Fortunately, I was done there and headed out!
