Wildfires in the Piute Mountains

None of the lighting visible here is from the sun or sunset, only from city lights and surrounding wildfires. The photo here was taken a couple hours after sunset at 9:00 PM from Double Mountain (looking towards the Piute Mountains on September 10, 2011). Most of the fires visible on the right were started during a storm about three hours earlier. The red glow on the left is from fires begun the day before. The yellow light left of center is from Bakersfield. Remaining storms to the southeast are visible in this photo. (f/2 8s ISO-400)
