| We had slept at the Hochstubaihütte, so it wasn't very far to the Windacher Daunkogel. In fact, we planned a day of collecting Daunkogels, as we wanted to traverse the Western and Eastern Daunkogel as well.
The day started with clouds on the higher summits, but at first we were under the clouds. Past the Windachter Daunkogel and on our way to the Western one, the clouds enveloped us, and it started to drizzle. Therefore, on the summit of the Western Daunkogel we decided to pass on the Eastern one and descended along the north ridge to the ski area down below.
Later, the weather improved again, but I firmly stand by the decision to go down, because at the time the weather wasn't good and the rocks were wet. |
