Good shotLooks a lot like it did when I was up there. Hey, had a question for you - I liked how you linked the weather report to your page... any chance you could tell me how to do that? Take care -

Re: Good shotsure - just go to TimeTemperature.com , enter the zip in the field, then when the weather forecast pops up you will see a link that says 'add this forecast to my website' or something similar. it generates a small html script that you can copy and then paste into the appropriate field on your thimble peak edit page. they have instructions there as well. cheers - jeff

Re: Good shotThanks for the tip - I've got it set up now. Hey, just curious - have you even climbed the mountain west of Finger Rock - the one Finger Rock's technically a part of? I hit the west of the two summits the other day but couldn't tell which one was higher.....

Re: Good shotno i've never been up there - you mean the large formation adjacent to finger rock to the west? i think its called Prominent Point. how'd you end up there? that seems like quite a hoof but a great summit - i bet it had awsome views.

Re: Good shotYeah, I've heard it called Prominent Point - don't know who decided that. It was a bitch of a hike and not one I'd recommend - the spines are still coming out of my legs. I came straight up the south gully to the ridge. And yeah, it did have kick-ass views but unfortunately I couldn't see Finger - it was blocked by the other summit. You've been up to Finger - how'd it look? I've heard anything from 5.6 - 5.8....

Re: Good shotthe finger looks great - tons of exposure up there. ive been there a couple times, the latest i was bold and made it up most of the way but balked at the last bit. head up there with a friend and bag that thing, the summit block it supposed to be wobly and scary. be sure to start the climb from its west side. it doesnt seem hard at all, to reach the base of the finger proper was more like class 4, and yah the finger itself is supposed to be 5.6-5.8, looked great from my vantage.
