Radek, just got back from another trip at RR with Stacy, Cat in the Hat on Jan 1, first team of 2008 and only..one other pair bailed before last pitch (it was chilly) which was a pity as of course since that is the pitch. Did the arete pitch as well...once I rappelled over it and could see it was within my range...Johnny Vegas, etc, the classics...more her speed when it comes to multi pitch. Pretty chilly really and they are due for some weather this weekend...but not windy and that was nice. A ringtail cat made off with our lunch as we made the last rap off Johnny Vegas yesterday. That was worth the trip. I just hope he/she does not eat the snickers bar all in one setting. Another group coming up watched the whole thing go down. Worth the trip right there. Cheers.

Great trip Dow - will check the remainder of your photos shortly (not sure if you posted any of Cat In the Hat yet but that page could use a photo upgrade). Cool run-in with the ringtail. We thought about hittig Red Rocks over New Years but weather forecast difference convinced us to go further south to AZ....once we put in 18-19 hrs. driving to Vegas, might as well make it an even 25hrs & hit the warmer Cochise :) Take care & let me know when you're planning on coming up to Bend.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
