Wood Benchmark

View west from the south face of Wood BM in the Samaria Mountains. It is a short hike from the dirt road seen in the photo. The road requires a high clearance vehicle and four wheel drive when wet. You can leave your vehicle at a nice parking spot farther down or continue driving to a pass to the west of the highpoint. Either way you will have to climb over or under a barbed wire fence which is what I did. I didn’t stay very long on the summit due to thunderstorms. There are extensive views along the Idaho-Utah border
