Great Bob, that you are bringing this splendid rock climbing area under wider attention. Still lots to do here in China! Have not been sitting still myself, recently put up a page on "Desolation Hill" in the Altun Shan, more to come hopefully.
Thanks Corax. As Nelson says, it is an evocative place. Combination of the shrouded natural beauty, mild weather and the relaxed, friendly attitude of the locals. This will become a major climbing destination in Asia in the next few years.
wow...this little town (well, little relative to Chinese standards) won't be little and quaint for very much longer I'm afraid. Major roads are being built as we speak. I climbed Happy New Year, 8 pitch 350 ft, up to 5.10a (last pitch) just last week. It was so clean...the rock is so solid...plus, there are some serious travellers and this town and many other exciting things to do! an awesome trip. I hope to return.

Untitled CommentCool pictures. Must be much in excess of 100 meters tall.

Untitled CommentExcellent page.
Consider changing the elevation to reflect that of the higher towers. Some of these towers are quite high.

YangshuoMight be worth changing this page from a mountain/rock to an area/range.
