AndyThe ridge crest looks pretty solid, but the rest of it looks very loose. Is this true? And can this be said for the majority of you climbs in the Never Summers?

Re: AndyThe ridge was a lot more solid than I was expecting based on Roach's description. I was very careful, but I didn't think it was a big deal, especially since the more difficult scrambing was horizontal rather than vertical. I think if it was vertical it could have been a much bigger issue.
As far as the ridge being more solid than the rest, that's hard to say. Based on my experience on gaining the Static Peak-Nokhu Crags saddle I'd have to guess that you're probably right. The east slope of that saddle is absolutely rotten. For Richthofen I'd say that's definitely the case. The slopes are all talus, but the ridges are fairly solid. I don't think I could make a generalization to the entire range, especially since Tepee is the farthest south I've ever been.
