Nicely done!

Useless trivia: This is the 7th "Bald" mountain on SP. There's 9 "Baldys".

Excellent page and some spectacular pictures of a great mountain range. Thanks for posting!

My usual proofreading report:

ranges obscurity -> range's obscurity

The quite Middle Creek Drainage -> The quiet Middle Creek Drainage

Very nice page! (But isn't the Gore Range more like a hundred miles from Denver? Or were you thinking, "as a crow flies?")

Kane is right on with the about 60 miles from Denver, I live backed up to the Eagles Nest Wilderness which is the Gore and it's only 60 miles from here to West Denver as the interstate runs. It might be a little closer as the crow flies.

Thanks, miztflip--guess I was thinking of the 100 mile drive from Denver to Vail, and using that as an entry point to the Gores. Should have known better.

Excellent page Kane. Soon your Gore Range coverage will be as extensive as your studies of the IPW and LCW. I just got back from florida yesterday so if you want to climb something this weekend let me know. When is that Outpost Peak going to be introduced to the world?

Cheers buddy.

Road closed at stables

August 15, I tried to drive up Spraddle Creek, hoping to camp up there. I found the road is gated at the horse stables. It was nearly dark and raining, so I didn't try to find anyone at the stables to ask about the situation.
On August 17, I called the Holy Cross Ranger Station. I was told the road was closed because the area above is a proposed Wilderness area. However, the owners of the adjacent stables have keys to the gate and are allowed to drive vehicles just above the gate. Probably due to the limited parking around the stables/trailhead. But neither they nor anyone else is allowed to drive higher on the road.
