I have a Big Agnes Zirkel sleeping bag so i feel it important to read up on both of these peaks. You've done a great job with this page, enjoyable and great pics.
Thanks a lot for the vote and comments Dean. Much appreciated. Interesting about your sleeping bag: I had never heard of them until I tried to find out who Agnes was. See you around.
I did do a review of the Big Agnes bag awhile back as it is an interesting style. A small Colorado company that likes to choose local names for its products is pretty neat. My only complaint was finding out that the bag was made in China. I had assumed it was made in Colorado, thereby helping the Colorado economy. Sigh.....
You know, I've always wondered what was up with Big Agnes. I've heard of the sleeping bags and wondered what the story was there. Thanks for finally laying this one to rest, at least part way. Since no one else seems to have a clue as to the origins of the name, you're perfectly welcome to come up with something. We're a gullible bunch here at SP and will probably buy it! Nice work on another good CO summit.
Thanks Jon. It's amazing what looking at some old slides can pull out of the brain. Plus, that was our first summer in Colorado and maybe the memories of those trips made a deeper impact. Jude remembered some minute details when seeing these pictures also.
Thanks for the vote Grant. There may be a small SP group heading in their next summer if you are interested. Haven't "seen" you around for a while. Hope all is well. Take care, Nelson

Untitled CommentHah, invent an Agnes! Good idea. A lonely gold miner's girfriend ran off with the Pony Express rider... I'll keep working on it! Thanks for the vote.
