Chicken out ridge with Borah in the background. We just geared up but I think we're missing something. Crampons-check. Ice axe-check. Helmet-check. Rope? Is that the rope hanging on your pack? We finally tied in right at the top of chicken out just prior to Matt's fall. "And you said you wanted to wait to break out the rope!"

What woud say is the degree is on approach?

It was somewhere around 45 degrees. It was only a short traverse on good snow with minimal exposure until we got up on the ridge. Matt fell actually, right after I passed the ridge on my profile pic where I set a picket.

at least til nightfall. I haven't had to bivy overnight yet and I hope that doesn't happen any time soon. But yes, the view was spectacular.
