Cladonias lichens on the top of the Rappenwand.

The cladonias (lichens), are very caracterial for the Palatinate-sector ! Here, on my photo, you can see the most important field of cladonias, for all the Rappenwand site. Severely protected, it's totally forbidden to destroy those lichens, to walk on them, and equally, to pick them ! Those lichens are remarkable, with their unical white-and-green color ... They are very resistant, with very hard weather conditions. Freezing winters or very hot summers, the cladonias can supporting a very hard climate, like the one that we can meet, into the Palatinate-sector ... But, they prefer bestly, dry and cold conditions. They don't need too much watter, for growing and having reproduction ! This is a typical dry-&-freeze vegetation ! It's logical, because the cladonias are, originally, coming from the Northern-Countries (Lapland) ! If you love this type of vegetation, you have to the best, to take your personnal photos of them ! It will be the most better, for keeping and preserving the natur and her marvels ...
