Hiked Grand Ridge from Obstruction Point trailhead and then went to Maiden Peak first while going to Elk Mountain and Obstruction Point on the way back.
Hiked to several summits along this long Mountain on a beautiful day.
Hiked this on the way to Obstruction Point.
snow free from Deer Park
Snowshoed up the Blue Mountain Road, camped, snowshoed the ridge over (peakbagging) to Elk, then back. Topo map of entire route at http://www.willhiteweb.com/olympic_mountains/deer_park/elk_mountain_217.htm
Quick up and down of Obstruction, Elk and Maiden. Though the day started off foggy, at elevation there wasn't a cloud in the sky (except some puffies over Olympus). Lovely breeze, too, and not too much haze. Perfect day.
This was an enjoyable hike. The weather was hot and there were no water sources to be found. Good thing I brought my own. I took a side-trip to summit this peak while in the middle of doing some recon and analyzing of neighboring mountain Obstruction Peak. Great views!!!
Baker and Raineir visible to the east, Victoria Island to the north and of course much of the breathtaking Olympic Range. Wildflowers in bloom this time of year, although not too many on Elk.
Went with my Father-in-law, sister-in-law and brother on a incredible summer day. As Stinkycheezman says, incredible views. Easy hiking.
last day in the mountains on an incredible honeymoon! boy oh boy, the greatest day of my life to-date!
