Part of a route that included Tryfan, Glyder Fawr, Castell-Y-Gwynt, Y Garn and Foel Goch
Due to a broken watch! With Jo.
Our Sheffield climbing friends Pat and Martin took us to Snowdonia for five days in May 2014. The first hike we did, was the Glyder Traverse which we did in pretty much total white out and rain. Nonetheless, wonderful hike.
Gorgeous day. Up from Llyn Idwal and down to Plas y Brenin.
...down via Y Gribin. The summit is a nice perch and the views are staggering in all directions
Some very misty, wet and snowy weather. Took in Bristly Ridge, Glyder Fawr and the Devil's Kitchen.
Last time was in 2008 via Bristly Ridge, after climbing Tryfan North Ridge, but I have made several ascents over the previous 30+ years. A great day out.
We've done it after the Tryfan.
Ascended this peak dozens of times in all weather, beautiful top with the famous Cantilever for a cool photo stop.
...out of Tryfan, Bristly ridge, Glyder Fach, Glyder Fawr, and Y Garn....
As part nof the Tryfan & Glyders traverse. Weather was terrible on Glyder Fach, heavy rain & driving winds.
Climbed many times, latest was via the north face in deep snow. Fantastic.
Done this summit many times mainly with Tryfan, Glyder Fawr then on to Y Garn.
A great combined ridge walk.
Got to the top via the exciting Bristly Ridge, definitely intent to get back up there one day and take in some of the other peaks at the same time. The mountains in the UK are one of the few things I miss about it.
between 1983 and present day, Sub-Cneifon Arete/Gribin Ridge and Tryfan/Bristly Ridge routes are firm favourites.
Best done with Glyder Fawr and Tryfan via Bristly ridge. Good to combine with Devil's Kitchen too.
My favourite way up is via Bochlwyd Buttress to Bwlch Tryfan and up the Bristly Ridge. Then after lunch, follow over Glyder Fawr and come down via the Kitchen.
Fun boulder hopping on top.
We climbed Glyder Fach from Tryfan and descended via Y Gribin.
Done a few times...always windy! Last time after a fun scramble up Bryants Gully.
