Hitting close to home

Back when I first discovered SP, I used to have my wife proof-read pages for me (since she’s a good writer and I’m prone to typos), but these days I wouldn’t even think of uttering the name of this website in her presense… Here she comes, gotta go…

That sounds pretty familiar. After I posted my first two mountain pages, she read them and thought it was pretty cool that I'd done them. Now she pays no mind at all except to ask how much time I've spent on SP today.

You should appreciate this one, then-- A few months ago, I commented on some thread that it was about time for you to step in and remind us about the Power Points REI dividend. A newer member started asking about that, and shame on me, I couldn't resist having a little fun. I told him that you go to REI, log on to SP at the counter, show them your current points total, and claim your dividend. I did end up telling him I was joking.

I'd like to work in a little thing about the REI points for the "list." If you have any good ideas, do share. I'll immortalize you here by giving you credit!

Problem?

A lot of the signs of being an SP addict apply to me. However, my husband has no objections to the time I spend of SP. Of course, he has his own addictions...

Thanks, Augie. It is healthier than most, though maybe not so much when it pairs (and it pairs quite nicely) with one's addiction to good wine or beer!

Thanks a lot-- What's even more depressing is how many of these things seem to be so true for so many of us. But as Augie said, at least it's a fairly healthy addiction, aside from all the beers I've drunk while wasting time on this site.
