Great idea the one of adding the great canyon. You have much material and work that to put in this page.

Cheers.

Do you know a book about Grand Canyon?

Rahel,

There are literally hundreds of books on the Grand Canyon. I have not used them for hiking, but there are some great ones about the general geology, history, and nature of the Grand Canyon. Down the Great Unknown comes to mind. It is an account of John Wesley's Powell's expedition into and exploration of the canyon in 1869.

If you go to Amazon or Barnes and Noble and search for Grand Canyon, you'll get lots of guide books as well.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Charles. If you can recommend special books, you could add them in the book-section on the left side. This would be useful for other people as well, I think.

Cheers, Rahel

Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open. I hesitate to add that book to the book list because SummitPost discourages books that aren't directly related to climbing the mountain.

Good job on this "inverted" climb.

Charles,

When I first saw this in the "what's new" list, I thought to myself, "what the hell?!" But then I viewed it as an "inverse mountain", and I see you did as well. :)

As a summitpost page, however, this is a work of art. Great writing, great information. Thanks!

I have conciderd adding this one, but have choosen not to simply because its is not a mountain or a summit. I do agree that the effort is not much different then hiking a mountain.

Yes, I debated adding it also, but I love the Grand Canyon as a hiking destination, and think most visitors to this site would benefit from the info. Thanks for sharing the photos.

An " Anti - Summit " - equal but opposite of a true summit. I like it!

This page is very well done! Not a mountain, but who cares? It’s natural marvel.

Outstanding. Not a peak, but deserving of a page of it's own.

Excellent work. I'm thoroughly impressed. This page is thorough, but the GC is so big, tons more added would make the page just stellar. I'm inspired to consider returning to GC, where I haven't been since I was a kid. This page will always be top drawer, and can only get better!

Hi Charles,

great site! Propose everyone to hike the Canyon if he/she is there and he has the appropriate condition, even if he has just one day - about that, what I said in my comment. It's one of the most interesting hikes we - my wife and I - did!

Cheers, stucki
