I had to park about a mile below the TH. Wow. It was busy like Best Buy on black Friday! 2:27 to the summit, 1:32 back to the car. Fun, easy 14er.
Nice day, lots of people
9th 14er of this years trip.
Good first 14er
Nice quick hike, crowds, and 5 dogs on the summit at once :)
Grays and Torreys.
Climbed with C. Stephens
We headed into the basin between Grays and Torreys with hopes to climb Dead Dog Couloir, but the snow had softened up too quickly so we skinned up Grays. Fun turns on the way down!
Great day mine and my daughters first 14er.
From I70 TH up Steven's Gultch. Decent day for a winter 14er but got winded out at 13k just prior to the switch backs. Lot's of snow. Snow shoes on the whole trip.
another with susan!
Somewhere around 7k feet of gain for the day. No big deal right? Route was great. Was harassed by marauding thunderstorms on the way back over Grizzly Peak. Finally found a break in the storm and made it over and back down. Was a crazy day for sure!
Can't remember the first time I did these, back in the 80's? But seemed to get stuck for a while on these 2.
Combo with Torrey Peak.
Sunny and windy day. On to Torreys afterward.
Good time! A little crowded. Great feeling at the top!
Got rained on at night at the trailhead and it rained again in the morning. Left kind of late (7am)due to the rain but it turned out to be the right decision. I met a couple of people who left very early and had to turn around due to hail and sleet up high. I was surprised by the number of people on the trail for a weekday.
Impromptu hike as I had already completed 2 other 14ers in the past three days. Originally hoped to hike both Grays and Torreys Peaks but weather decided differently. Was very happy to reach the highest point on the Continental Divide!
