Easy route. Best advice is to bring bug repellent, especially in the morning.
Did this is a midnight hike, so I couldn't tell it wasn't light out this time (since I still wasn't born).
sweet little backyard climb! i like it
upper 1/2 of trail with snow. a bit slippery coming down. Great hike and beautiful sunny weather.
Nice morning hike with good views of the Boulder area. Something tells me Shadow Rock is the least scenic way to summit the mountain.
I climbed the Standard East Face Route (5.4) on the Third Flatiron with brenta and my wife. Watch the movie I shot.
hiked up after bear and south boulder peaks, then hiked down to my house to ride my bike out to eldo to pick up my car. good time.
This is a fun climb. I made it to the top from Gregory Canyon in slightly under an hour. The marker at the top is a nice addition.
One of my first hikes in CO!
It was nice to get back in the mountains after The Week of Crummy Weather. I hiked this one with my sister. I was a little worried that there would be too much snow on the trail. There is still a lot of snow up there, but it is melting pretty quickly. Trail conditions were not bad, not too much snow, though footing is treacherous in places and there's a lot of mud. Still a good hike, though.
A great day hike, take the kids and get some excersice. The view of the continental divide and the city of Boulder below is more than worth the effort required. OH pack a lunch too, the top is a perfect picnic spot.

Great climb, views, company...
Beautiful day for a hike in Boulder, with everything covered in fresh powder. Did this with Brock (bakcast), visiting from Montana for the holidays.
Started from NCAR about 11.45 or so, summited 14.26, & got back @ 16.42.
We saw a fair number of people down below, but once we got into the canyon, we were all by ourselves. While I might have summited Green Mtn with my mom awhile back (we went up the canyon to the 'T,' but I think we went L at the time), I think this was the first time I summited this particular peak. Snow did a good job of concealing ice underneath, & I landed on my ass a number of times! Couldn't see anything from the summit, as we were basically in the middle of a cloud.
Great dayhike & good chance to get to know another cool SP member.
Jan. 6, '16: Hiked down the Long Canyon Trail to the Ranger Trail to the summit. Got there at gloaming, shortly after the sun had set. Took the W ridge trail down. Icy, but great to do it with my pops, a nice hike, & great views!
Jan. 12, '16: 3rd of my 3-peak traverse (Tri-Tip Challenge). Summited 17.13, later than I'd hoped, ha ha. Oh well. Worked out. Notable gusts at summit (50ish mph?)!! Views of lights in the dark down via Saddle Rock trail phenomenal. Made it back to the truck (Chautauqua trailhead) at 18.28, 17 minutes before the CRES Boulder chapter meeting at CU :) Fitting end to a great day!
I've climbed this bad boy so many times I can't even count.
Climbed Green Mountain with a friend yesterday. Beautiful views at the Indian Peaks and Boulder Valley.
Did this in combination with Bear Peak and South Boulder Peak. Long Day. Fun summit with great views.
A nice hike with a surprising amount of snow.
Some rather steep sections of trail. But wonderful views of the Indian Peaks from the summit.
We were visiting some friends teaching at CU and this trip was an epiphany. We just headed out of our appt near campus and walked up Green Mtn, in my sneakers. Since this hike my life changed. After 10 years as an urban professional I discovered the outdoors. We climbed this and the flat irons, and went to RMNP, returning to NYC I joined the AMC, started hiking, then climbing, then backpacking, then ice climbing, then mountaineering. Since then the outdoors and climbing have been a central part of my life. What a beutiful place.
