Loveland Pass Tour
Climbed en route to Grays and Torreys from Loveland Pass. Great summit! I wasn't too excited about the climb back up on the return trip. Marauding thunderstorms didn't help either...

From Loveland Pass
Ran up to do this after getting shut down by bottomless slush down lower. Took longer than I thought. So many ups and downs. Quite windy. Started out in marginal conditions, but the skies cleared ten minutes before the summit. Nice!

Loveland Pass
Very enjoyable, safe winter climb. The wind was pretty unrelenting. Just me mindfull of the cornices to the west. Many false summits on this one with about 750 ft. (seems like more) elevation gain on the descent.

it beat me up
I climbed this mountain from Loveland Pass.
The up and down of trying to summit Grizzly can get you, but the view at the top is awesome.
Date climbed is approximate, but I was accompanying my "usual suspects"

Long Day
Sorry this is so old but was updating my profile and thought I would add this. Long day, started from Loveland pass in the dark at 5:30 AM. Made good time to the ridge to watch the sunrise. Made the summit around 10:00 AM. Descended to the saddle between Torreys and Grizzly and ascended halfway to Torreys. Had to be back in Denver by 5 so we turned around at 11:30 and made our way back. This is the only time I have gotten AMS bad. Threw up twice on the way back to the pass. Not a fun time, beautiful day though.

Grizzly Indeed
Grizzly Peak was a bit more of an endeavor than expected; however, I probably wouldn't have thought so if it weren't for the fact that it was my son's first peak...he's 17 months old and was carried on my back the entire time. After much debate at the class 3 rock outcrop, we did move on and it turned out to be a little less arduous than it looked...but don't be fooled: it is definitely not for the inexperienced hiker. One false move on the final push and you're going for a ride that may land you in the hospital, or worse. Awesome views and no one else on the summit, although we had to hustle down due to clouds building rapidly over the divide. Gotta love Colorado!
Hiked with my sweetie from Loveland Pass. Got Cupid again too.

We topped out after a few hours of blasting cold winds. Perfect weather training for Denali!

Astrobassman and I loaded up our packs and used this climb for some Denali prep training. It was cold and windy but with blue sky and sun. A great morning workout.
