In October, 2004, the seasons first winter storm hit with a vengence and caught many unaware and unprepared. A high profile rescue of climbers on El Capitan received international coverage. Unfortunately, two Japanese climbers lost their lives. This picture was taken as the storm was breaking and the rescue effort was underway, you can make out the profile of El Cap on the right and lower center - 10/2004
