Loved that place

You could just feel the presence of bears in the woods. I hope they're still there.

Re: Loved that place

Ohhh, hopefully you are right:D
I lost my way in beech woodland somewhere in the gorges of Sturul creek. The scenery was so wild, that I wasn't in doubt this must be a territory of a bear. But I was very pleased with the presence of Ural owl - another rare catch:D
Did you pitch a tent here?

Re: Loved that place

We camped (for one day) a bit to the north, near the hunting lodge called Cimpusel (where I was warned by a hunter not to pitch the tent by Piatra Iorgovanului, which – according to him – was one of the places frequented by bears). The following day we climbed Paltina and went on further west. One funny thing was that while ascending Paltina we were overtaken by a local couple who looked about 80 years old – well, but my backpack weighed about 35 kilos :-)
