Labytnangi RR - Unloading the gear

Labytnangi RR - Unloading the gear

on the way to ski across Ray-Iz Massif in the Arctic Ural, Russia. October 1986. Photo by EC. There isn't a single Ural Mountains photograph on SP at this moment (and the nearest picture of any kind is in Norway, 1200 miles away!), but the point of this particular picture is different of course. It is simply to demonstrate the prevailing fashion in ski expedition backpack design in the former Soviet Union. Black beard gone, I am still using one 20 years later in this shot :)

Backpack

Hey, this is my backpack in front on the upper photo, not yours!

Ugly Backpack Gallery TBD :)

LOL mine is there too, to the left, but your pack is so much prettier!

(Sorry I didn't have a better picture at the time than this one of yours ... but I am scanning the old slides at a steady clip now, and there is no doubt that I will get better shots for a not-yet-created Ugly Pack Gallery soon)

Re: Ugly Backpack Gallery TBD :)

OK you can have mine in its full glory for the gallery. With myself for free addition.
