I had done the round back in the 1980's - but set out again last Sunday with the agenda of scrambling, swimming and scrambling my way up Pavey Ark, the eastern most of the four Pikes. I duly scrambled up Stickle Ghyll, swam across Stickle Tarn and then scrambled up Jack's Rake, perhaps the best and most exposed Grade 1 scramble in England - finishing on the top of Pavey Ark. The weather was cold but glorious and with stunning views on the top I was inspired to continue on over Thunocar Knot before tackling the remaining three Pikes.
I had such a great day I am inspired to write it up as a Trip Report.
