...but really, I keep seeing these great shots esp. from UK & IRL of climbing above the blue-green waters...so unique (intimidating also). Thanks for the inspiration Sir.

They certainly can be intimidating!

Last week, I was doing a fairly easy route not far from where this picture was taken. We had to abseil in and set the belay up a few feet above where the tide reached.

The tide was going out and the line between the wet and dry rock was really well defined, so we were quite happy being that close to the water.

Just before I actually started the route we got soaked by a few thousand gallons of sea water as a huge wave hit just below us! A minute later and we got hit again.

Only spray, not a direct hit, but boy, did it liven up the day!
