Too bad Cameron's summit doesn't rise 300 ft. or more from the Cameron~Lincoln saddle, than this peak would be an official summit! There would be yet another true 14er in Colorado. Oh well, Still worth visiting.

Route: Kite Lake Loop
A bump on the way to Lincoln, very windy as I recall...poor Mt. Cameron...always 4th best...I've brushed shoulders with Cameron twice (8/9/02 on way to Lincoln with family), but not worth the two separate log posts...Hmph
Route Climbed: passing through!! Date Climbed: August 1997
Just passing across this one on the way to Lincoln and Bross. Personally, I don't rank Cameron. It's kind of like Bighorn Flats up in RMNP. Just a high plateau.
Route Climbed: Kite Lake via Democrat Date Climbed: Feb 15, 2005
Only thing to consider on a winter ascent is the level at which they close the road. This could very well be a factor in the time it takes. It added a mile on this day. This was my 3rd ascent of Cameron/Lincoln/Bross.
Route Climbed: 3 (?) Banger Date Climbed: August 2005
Skipped this when completing the 3 Banger a few years back. Came back this year and figured I might as welll since people seem to call it it's own mountain these days. Rain/Snow kept us from the others, except Democrat, so I had to count it that day!
Route Climbed: Kite Lake Date Climbed: 2 September 2005
How many can say they've climbed both Colorado mountains (Cameron Cone, Mt Cameron) with the word "Cameron" in the title? I can now. Sad this isn't a "true" 14er because this is a very serene and Mars-like landscape at the top, unlike the true points of Democrat and Lincoln on either side. Yes, it was just a waypoint on the way to Lincoln, but Cameron holds a special place with me because it's so different.
Route Climbed: Decalibron Date Climbed: August 14, 2004
This one was actually worse than Lincoln, since you gain most of the elevation for Lincoln going up Cameron from the Democrat / Cameron saddle. Huge, open summit. Pretty cool.
