On the way over to Lincoln. Great weather, great views.
A walk-over on the way to Lincoln.
Just offering my respect to the big mountain.
I'm counting it - easy walk up
Uniques setting there, i like the amount of time earth above the tree line, good stuff.
Four 14ers in a day. Nice hike but clouds obscured the views.
DID LOOP FROM KITE LAKE TRAILHEAD
Hiked all four via Lincoln Amphitheater from Montgomery Reservoir Trailhead with my friend Jason. We summited Cameron three different times that day.
Cameron was a blast, we finished Democrat early and headed down. There was a ton of snow so we played all the way up to the summit. Practice some self arrest, hung over a large cornice. This is a fun peak with all this snow. With the sun beating down it was also very hot. My best friend and I did our usual type trip from Oklahoma. Drive all night, sleep a couple of hours, go for the summit. We had never done more than one 14er on any trip but we decided to give this a whirl. Doing Democrat was the most difficult, we had not time to adjust to the altitude difference from Oklahoma to Colorado so we both felt queezy. Arriving at the summit was great! Completed Cameron, Linclon and Bross glissaded down the face of Bross. Great way to finish. Easy descent. All of these four peaks were done before these were closed recently.
Started at Kite Lake, hiked up to Democrat, traversed over the Cameron, then Lincoln and finally Bross before coming down the western side of Bross back to Kite Lake. If you miss the trail coming down Bross it is a scree field that isn't much fun to come down. Even my Golden Retriever didn't care for that. Otherwise it was a great day.
Climbed this after Democrat, and before Lincoln and Bross. Got passed by a very small kid, who was maybe 6 or 7, and was climbing all 4 in one day.
this is the summit?
Nice hike. 4 hours 45 minutes round-trip for Lincoln, Cameron, Democrat, and Bross. Climbed with a very nice fellow, Steve Holden, who I met at the TH.
My first 14'er excursion -- hiked the "Decalibron" route to knock off three ranked 14'ers plus Cameron.
Done as part of the Decalibron.
Summitted Cameron on my way over to Lincoln. Even though it's not an "official" 14er, it's a nice mountain.
Already had Democrat. Finished the loop.
Did this one back when I was 12 or so.
With 12 year old and 10 year old. Did Lincoln, Cameron, and Bross. According to the Gerry Roach book, there was suppose to be a trail back down through the Cameron Amphitheatre. Never really did find it.
