Second Time to Mount Diablo  Sucess!

Climbed Mount Diablo for a second time, taking the rarely-used Olympia Trail and bagging Mt. Olympia and North Peak on the way. Strenuous/steep hike but breathtaking and off the beaten path.

First Time to Mount Diablo  Sucess!

Fun relatively easy hike (Back Canyon/Murchio/Prospector's gap route) with great views. Needs to be route-finding-aware due to confusing signs and crisscrossing trails.

Home Mtn  Sucess!

I grew up looking at this mountain everyday, living in the East Bay. I guess the 'Devil' started my love for mountains.

Trail Run/Hike  Sucess!

out-and-back after Rose  Sucess!

Having done Rose Peak earlier in the day, I opted for the easy approach before heading to North and Olympia. It was surprisingly chilly when I started at 6pm - temp up top was 6C/42F. Glad I had a windbreaker.

I   Sucess!

A bit hazy, but some nice views of the various river basins. Tarantulas weren't quite out yet.

Windiest camping

I have ever done. The gusts must have been around 130 mph on top. But the views on this lonesome peak are great. We can see San Francisco in the distance

From Mitchell Canyon  Sucess!

Total human power on this ascent. 8.5 miles of biking then 13 miles of hiking to the summit and back before another 8.5 miles of biking home. All those suckers who drove up don't know what they're missing!

My Backyard  Sucess!

Date climbed: too many times to count. An outdoor person's local paradise. Hiking, some climbing, and great road riding! I'm blessed to live so close. Yay mountains!

One of Four  Sucess!

Started out at Mitchell Canyon and then hit Eagle Peak, Diablo, North Peak, and Mt. Olympia. A beautiful day to wander about in the hills.

Diablo  Sucess!

Drove to the top. Nice wide views though kinda foggy towards the city. Cool that they kept the actual highest rocks within the visitor center but sticking out so you could touch it.

Summit via Regency Route  Sucess!

Like several other posters, I enjoy the hike/run up this wonderful mountain right here in our backyards as a training experience to stay fit. I always prefer approaching from the east or north. Lots of history here for me going back to the days in high school I'd cut class to technical climb with buddies at Rock City. As with topping out on Mt. Tam, there's often a little bit of culture shock at the top when the family mini-van unloads.
