Too Crowded, but still amazing.  Sucess!

Stayed at liberty spring tentsite before heading on the franconia ridge for this one. Climbed liberty and flume the day before. now that i've linked those two up, i think i would fill water at liberty spring and then stay in between liberty and little haystack. There are some great spots in there.

Summit  Sucess!

Icy overall. No use for ice axes yet. Crampons and trekking poles mainly. Windy on the summit.

4000 footer #6!  Sucess!

Climbed this along with summits of Lincoln and Little Haystack... and made it back to TH in time for a trek back to Boston to watch the Bruins game 7! It's a good solid day hike... not too easy, but not incredibly difficult. Love the views of the surrounding white mountains in the distance.

Hat Found  Sucess!

Yes, a great hike. Found a "Glacier" ball cap on the trail between the Falling Waters Trailhead and Little Haystack on Sunday 6/23/19. If it's yours, please reach out to claim it.

Cold but Beautiful!  Sucess!

Came up via Little Haystack and Lincoln. It was well below freezing at the summit with ice build-up on the wind side of everything on the mountain. The descent was intense, steep+frozen=lots of glissading.

Winter Hike  Sucess!

Franconia Ridge Traverse  Sucess!

This was a beautiful day for a traverse - sunny, 60s, not to breezy up top. The scenery throughout was stunning! The Falling Waters Trail was much steeper, so I recommend going the direction that we did; up Falling Waters to the Franconia Ridge Trail, then down the Old Bridle Path.

More work than I thought  Sucess!

Came up the bridle path. Started at 0530 and didn't run into anyone until between Lafayette and Lincoln. Decent visibility today

Franconia Ridge Traverse  Sucess!

Went on a cloudy day. Walking the ridge while the clouds pass over was incredible! It was very cold at the top but the constantly changing view was perfect

Franconia Ridge Traverse  Sucess!

Did this a part of a day hike of the Franconia Ridge. Despite the crowds, it was one of the most beautiful hikes I've ever done!

Nice day  Sucess!

Took a long time overall to reach the three summits and finish at Laffayette. Three of us on top. Descended to the hut

first lafayette  Sucess!

unseasonably warm with little wind. Would have been perfect except for the low cloud cover that obstructed all views.

Nice foliage  Sucess!

Franconia Ridge from north to south via the Skookumchuck and Garfield Ridge Trails to the summit of Mt. Lafayette (5,260’). We will then follow the Franconia Ridge Trail over Mt. Lincoln (5,089’) to Little Haystack Mtn. (4,750’) before taking the Falling Waters Trail down to Lafayette Place.

Great component of the Pemi Loop  Sucess!

I bagged this peak as part of a 1.5 day Pemi Loop trip where I bagged 10 4K summits in all (plus a few that didn't count). The weather was incredible, but the ridge line was bone dry and had I been smart I would have refilled my water at Liberty Spring because I was desperate by the time I was coming off Garfield. I didn't enjoy Lincoln or Lafayette as much because of the intense crowds. I like my summit solitude and there was none of that because of the day-hiking city dwellers who climb them and have a picnic/party on the summit... I am glad they are getting out into nature I just don't want to share my summits with 100 strangers. My favorites of them all were West Bond and Bond Cliff where solitude abounded and the stark beauty of the ledges around the summits made for great places to quietly sit and appreciate what God has made for us to experience if we just step out of our comfort zone a bit.
