Brighton Ridge 5-Peak Traverse
Hiked the Brighton Ridge to Millicent, Woverine, Tuscarora, Sunset Peak, and Pioneer Peak. Tremendous fun! Millicent's NE ridge is easy snow hiking. Wolverine/Tuscarora is easy snow hiking as well. Sunset is a bit harder because there is a Class 3/4 rock spine in the middle of the ridge. I chose to bypass the rock spine onto a 38 degree, north facing slope which brought me back onto the ridge. Only use that bypass under total stable snow conditions. Pioneer Peak was a beast. 3' snow drifts on the ridge about every 20 feet. Hiking down off of Pioneer was 2' of soft powder all the way to Brighton. Good workout! Views are oustanding. Highly recommended.

Up Twin Lakes Down Catherine Pass
Nice easy hike to take a lady on, but still get some nice exposure on the cirque traverse. Very interesting views on each side it both these peaks look so different. Nice to stop at the lakes on the way down for a lunch.

Part of several different ride runs
Four successful times. The Silver Lake/Catherine Pass/Marys Lake r/t is about 4 hours. Fantastic views. Another loop on 9-14-06 included both Honeycomb Cliff summits and Millicent. This was also about 4 hours. Two snow climbs (3-15-07, 4-27-07) provided many spectacular views of surrounding summits and the Wolverine cirque. Thanks to Brent, Christine, Lana and Kim. Well, make that five times, and today was in early season snow (10-23-07) and lots of it. With Dave, Michelle, Christine & Lana. #6 7-22-08 w/ Brent as part of Silver Lake loop including Sunset and Pioneer Peaks (4.5 hrs r/t). #7 on 1-31-09 w/ Brent on a windy, blue-sky-everywhere day. 2+21 up, 1+31 down (snowshoes all the way) #8 on 4-21-09 as part of Brighton Bowl ridge run including Millicent, Tuscarora, Sunset, Pioneer, 10,321, Preston, Clayton and 10,420'. 6+45 car to car. Began at Nordic Ctr at Silver Lake. #9 3-16-10 From Nordic Ctr over Patsy Marley. 2+15 up, nursing a recovering knee injury. 1+35 down, snowshoes the entire trip. #10 4-20-10 With Brent, Dave & Walt. Next to last 10er as part of Brighton Ridge Run on snow for this spring. Great in spite of gusty winds and a few crotch-deep post holes. #11 on 10-19-10 as part of Alta Ridge Run w/ Dave (Cardiff Pass to saddle east of Sugarloaf, etc.) #11 3-13-14 W/ ZeeJay via Grizzly Gulch & Patsy Marley on SS. 1+40 up. #12 8-23-14 1st snows. After H. Cliffs & P. Marley. Great surprise afterwards; I am one lucky guy! #13 09-02-19 (Labor Day) W. Yz. Brighton Ridge Run from Clayton to Patsy Marley. Very warm. #14 06-23-21 W/ Lana. Ridge run from Flagstaff Mountain to Hidden Peak. #15 W/ Lana - Brighton ridge run. #16 09-11-23 W/Lana, peaks #5 & #6 on Brighton Ridge run. #17 06-24-24 W/Lana. Peaks # 46 & #47 in the 80in80 project. Done after Patsy Marley and exit via Catherine Pass.

Brighton Ridge
From Silver Lake to Twin Lakes Pass, above Wolverine Cirque and so on to Mt. Majestic. Beautiful Day and lots of solitude.
(if you are on your way from Wolverine to Catherine Pass.) A great hike (or run) is to go up Grizzly Gulch to Twin Lakes Pass, climb Patsy Marley to the South, follow the rim around Wolverine Cirque to Wolverine, Tuscarora, Catherine Pass, and descend Albion to your start.
Route Climbed: Brighton Traverse Date Climbed: 7/2005
Bagged these two peaks as part of a loop from Silver Lake, over to Catherine Basin and down past Lake Mary. An easy hike with outstanding views, and I loved the Wolverine Cirque. Saw a bull moose on the trail to Twin Lakes.
Route Climbed: Catherine Pass Date Climbed: August 25, 2005
Wolverine and Tuscarora are two really nice mountains with a short approach. I climbed them during the Brighton Ridge Run. There was a thunderstorm to the north of us that made us descend down the ridge in a hurry.
Route Climbed: From base of Mt. Milicent Date Climbed: Winter 1996
Bagged both of these on a snowboard, pre-splitboard days - postholing with fellow ski/snowboard school instructor Ken. Tuscarora Chute was amazing, very few tracks!
Route Climbed: Catherine Pass / Albion Basin Date Climbed: July 7 '02
I climbed these two along with Pioneer and Sunset with my Grandson. Pleasent hikeing with wonderful views. I most recently climbed these from Millicent on Sept 19 2005. Great Fall hike.
This is a fun warm up peak. Very fun and great views
9/3/10- With Jun32. We ran from the guard shack at Alta to the summit of Tuscarora and then over to Wolverine. 1:04 up and about 35 minutes down. What a fun trail that is to run.
Route Climbed: Catherine Pass, descended via Mt Millicent Date Climbed: July 21st, 2004
Fun climb, nice views. I was very suprised as to how much it and Tuscarora changed appearances from different views. I was also awestruck by the cirque. Although small, it is rugged and is certainly the most accessible cirque in the Wasatch!
