Approach

See the "Getting There" section of the Champlain Mountain main page to see how to get to the Bear Brook Trail trailhead on the Park Loop Road.

Route Description

This route begins at the bottom of the north ridge of Champlain Mountain along the Park Loop Road and climbs all the way to the summit. It is much easier than the Precipice Trail and slightly easier than the East Face Trail. The route is marked the entire way with great views back towards Bar Harbor and the Porcupine Islands.

Essential Gear

Typical hiking gear is adequate for this route. Bring your camera and binoculars.
