Re: Another planetThanks, it was an amazing place. Although it was very volcanic with Columbia Gorge-like coastal fjords and a similar high desert interior like Oregon, it was very unique and different from anything I have ever seen before.

Re: Another planetAgree with ATTM-Would have done well in a Star Trek episode. Gorgeous, too!

Re: Another planetThanks, Aaron. I got lucky with a sliver of sun peeking thru the clouds at the right time on this one and I quickly snapped a few shots before the green was out of the sun.

Thanks for the nice words. I never go into the Photos page so I wouldn't have known. Just checked it out. Neat.

HaaldaI must say that has to be the most spectacular landscape picture I've ever seen... and I'm totally biased towards my own photos :-) Was it enhanced? The colors almost look alien. What is the speck of white in the middle of the mountain... I assume snow?
Brian Jenkins - Aug 11, 2004 4:23 pm - Hasn't voted
Re: HaaldaYeah, that was snow. Most of the higher brown mountains had lots of snow on them, this peak was a bit lower in elevation.
I did not enhance this one I don't think. I may have knocked the contrast up a notch but the colors are as you see them. It's just a cool place and the contrasting colors play off each other. Plus, I just got lucky and was in the right place at the right time. It was cloudy most of the day but at this moment, the sun broke through a slight horizontal opening in the clouds and it was like the rays were shining down on this particular mountain.
Thanks for the nice words. I appreciate it.

Re: Haalda"sun broke through a slight horizontal opening in the clouds"
Ahhh... that's what accounts for the "weird" lighting. Thanx for sharing.

Note I voted 2 stars, but I voted twice. So 2 + 2 = 4, right?
