Pendirma-Pe (1221 m), Paypudyna Ranges, Arctic Ural

Pendirma-Pe is the highest point of the Paypudynas. The Nenets word Pe, or Pay, means "Rock", the same as the Komi word Iz. That's how most of the mountains of Arctic Ural are named. In fact the traditional Russian word for the Ural Mountains was Kamen' also meaning "Rock". November 1987
