Anita, can you post one of the pictures in question? As Carbo suggested it is probably not white balance, but just an exposure issue. With the photo in hand, so to speak, someone might be able to give you more information. Here is the photo. I use a finepix s602z - which I guess falls into the pros...

I have a question for all you experts
whenever I take photos my skies come out all washed out and white. how can you adjust that on a regular digital camera? is it the white balance setting?

suggestions

bonjour!

we might be planning a trip to the French Alps this summer and I wanted to know if anyone could recommend some good peaks for a first time Alps visitor.
so far we have Mont Blanc in mind. any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm reading John Muir's 'My First Summer in the Sierra'
next is a collection of short stories by Jack London

Vittorio Sella's 'Summit' with a preface by Ansel Adams.

I've only ever seen lousy chipmunks. a grouse once, moose on the road, and I missed a pine marten by a couple minutes.
