I went to max zoom and tried to follow the whole route up the mountain (I counted at least 43 people and one camp on the way up). Became pretty apparent this was not for me.

I counted about 11 people. I started at the top and was working down. When I hit base camp I said F that and stopped counting.

There is a big group(s) all bunched up at the sortof flat spot just below (a few on) the final steep push to Camp 3 (which is also visible). I think most of those you saw I missed before... I'm up to 52 on the route...

Starting from the bottom... 1 + 4 + 2 + 2or3 by a ladder + a structure of some sort + long prayer flag across route + 3 +1 + 15 + 1 + 8 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 + camp 3 + 8 near and above camp 3.

Here's the ladder...

Sad. Not just this, but K2, Denali . . . all the beautiful peaks that have been overrun.

Wow. Even for being the highest peak, the amount of people there is staggering. At least the summit is not crowded.

So I've been looking at this photo more... Trying to figure out what this thing is... anyone know? It's 60% up the ice fall, just above the ladder. It isn't a rock or anything... there is nothing else like it. A warming up for hot tea and cocoa, maybe play some cards, before continueing up?

Also the prayer flag. Initially noticed the lower one, and now see there are several more. At first I thought this was camp one, but I think camp one is out of view on the right just as the ice fall ends. Looks like these flags are just positioned for good karma on a particularly exposed to avalanche portion of the route. There is fresh debris within the photo. Also note the group of three in the top right.

ugh! This photo drives me crazy! The mouse panning is inverted and therefore wrong. I always pan the opposite direction I want to go!

With that aside, yeah this is sad. It is apparent that Mount Everest is nothing more than a business now.

Yeah, hate the inverse mouse panning! Great photo though.

There seem to be no one above Camp III; at least I could not spot anyone.

Wow! That's one of the best panorama's I've ever seen! Great post. Although it was nice to see Everest, it helped show the near by mountains I've seen in pictures but did not know where they were in relation to Everest. Superb details!
