A Mountaineer's Fantasy

by sneakyracer » Mon Apr 19, 2010 5:18 pm

Check this video out http://www.zoomfilmtv.com.au/tvcs/toia/ ... ckbox.html

It's almost pure fantasy but the footage is pretty cool. Any idea where this was shot?

Brought to you by the writers of Vertical Limit (or someone who knew as much about climbing).

(No, I don't have any idea where it was filmed.)

So apparently this is an ad for "Gudang Garam," which, some quick Googling reveals, is an Indonesian clove cigarette manufacturer. I don't know about you guys, but thinking of the mountains always makes me reach for a smoke...

Mmm, clove cigarettes remind me of high school.

Some people's mountaineering fantasies are just so unrealistic.....

I'll stick to mine, thank you. 8)

Yea, obviously the directing/editing is more focused toward fantasy like I mentioned but there was definitely some work performed by people who know what they are doing on the mountains including some stunts. The location is also beautiful.

But, what this ad has to do clove cigarettes is a mystery, it works much better for the Scarpa Invernos! jajaja

I like both that video and Dave's idea of mountain fantasy...

What, you mean you don't routinely take nitroglycerin with you on climbing expeditions?
