How would said change take place?

As Dow said making use of the full range of votes (1-10) would help but in my estimation that will never happen as most are afraid of "revenge votes".

I think I will from now on restrain myself to vote on "only" 10 pictures max a day and not vote more than once to the same member. I don't know whether it will do any good for the voting issue here on SP but I just feel better this way.

Also, another "strategy" I noticed many times is that some who think their pictures did not receive as many votes as they should that day just delete them and re-post them another day/time. Go figure!

Yeah, but some folks appear to be "making" some TIME for themselves!

They don't win anything! It's just another boost for their over-inflated ego.

Try working 50 hour weeks while taking 15 credit college classes. All the time I have left goes to my girl and the outdoors. SP gets my 5 to 10 min. glance over before I go to bed. This summer I'll MAKE TIME! :D

I would tend to agree with the premise of this thread. Some of these photos are basically the same high jagged peak recycled. I know they aren't the same but a lot look that way. And the desert shots of lcarreau are excellent, maybe not jawdropping in terms of the peaks and their summit heigth but in terms of the quality of the shot. But I'm brand new here and don't understand a lot. Just along for the ride right now. Once I figure this all out, you guys will really get my two cents worth.

Although on the other hand. It sounds like what lcarreau is asking for is government oversight and regulations. And politically I'm very much opposed to big government.

As it is, everyone only votes "like" (10) or "dislike" (no vote), so why not just get rid of the other options?

Great idea, I know its been discussed before too, what we need is HOPE and CHANGE!

I thought it would be the exact opposite here on SP, I think the GOP has it 3 - 1 versus the Dems. What does that have to with this thread? Too much regulation within SP and voting methods.

Apparently it was anonymous in SPv1 and that didn't work out.

Everyone votes 10 or not, which is simply a transformation of like/dislike (both models have "didn't vote" also). Only the likes (10s) get counted. This is known as "approval voting" (Google it), which isn't so bad in the scheme of things.
