Cool. Thanks for the ideas. Been around SP for a while and totally get the BS. SC kind of bothers me based on what I've seen in TX and heard on the boards.

Looks like I'll become a stalker.

Sounds like someone needs to set up a trip for Pete to mentor the noobs, for better or worse!

I feel you on lack of response. I was a Scoutmaster for years and after working with the boys to plan some cool trips and set everything up you get less response than you expect. I'd expect that the mountaineering community is small enough that there is not too much demand for a large number of groups requiring some form of membership.

I saw CMC requires you to be sponsored by a member or be a member to participate. It's hard to recruit that way.

How much hyper-environmentalist push can be expected from the SC on their outings? Don't get me wrong, I'm for responsible preservation and use of undeveloped and wilderness areas but it must include access.
