Has anyone been out this way recently? Interested in coming up from the Appalachia / Rt 2 area and want to do Adams and Jefferson in a quick up and back. I hiked Valley Way to Madison a couple weeks ago and it was good but not sure how things would be coming across East to West.

Micro Spikes and hiking boots sufficient or should I bring the step-in crampons? Snow shoes? Crampons were overkill last time and I never unlashed the snow shoes so hoping I can get a better idea of the current situation before hauling it all up the mountain

Also, any recommendation as far as Valley Way vs Lowes Path?
