Fuji Conditions??

by birdhead » Tue Oct 09, 2007 6:07 pm

Anybody climb Fuji recently and have beta on conditions? Is there much snow right now? Are ice axe and crampons needed? I will be in Japan this weekend and was thinking of stopping by Fuji on my way from Tokyo to Kyoto.

I'd love an update also, although it's a little soon for me, I'll be on Fuji November 9th.

bump.

Anyone know if crampons/ice axe would be required? I'm looking at a webcam and it looks like there's a nice snowcap...

Although the "official climbing season" is presently over, Fuji is currently dry. No crampons or ice axe required. Maybe light pants, a light long-sleeved shirt and sandals and you'll be fine. Gambatte!
