Garmont Boot Durability?

by 96avs01 » Sun Oct 02, 2016 10:00 pm

Wondering how the Garmont Tower boot series perform with respect to durability? Not overly happy with the longevity of my most recent pair of Scarpa Triolet, and considering trying something new vs. having them resoled. Have been very happy thus far with their Dragontail approach shoes, they've handled volcano choss like a champ.

Specifically looking at Tower Plus LX GTX.

TIA

From my experience, if you can wear out the soles without destroying the uppers, that's a good pair of boots.

While I don't disagree, this pair of Triolet wore down almost twice as fast as my first pair. The rands on this set have sizable holes in both boots, I didn't observe that in my first pair. While I'll probably still get this pair resoled, I'm looking to try something else simultaneously. Thanks

I reall wanted to like Garmont, but I just couldn't do it. I had two sets of their boots and they turned out to be crap... I guess take that for what it's worth... I'm a huge Scarpa fan --- thier stuff is bomber...

Who knows really? I think there is a trial and error for each of us...
