Gran Sasso? How do the snow routes look?

by mountaindog » Thu Mar 08, 2007 9:06 pm

Has anyone done any of the gully routes in the Gran Sasso this spring? Or is it dry enough to rock climb yet?

Any suggestions?

Had a look around today - still lots of snow up high. Anyone in southern Italy want to have a go at a few some weekend?

Hi. Thank you for the proposal, but the next week-ends (at least till Easter) are fully (family and job engagements). Anyway, some of the couloirs to the Corno Grande (Vetta Occidentale) could be interesting for you (Bissolati, Direttissima).
Ciao

Grazie Paolo,
Let me know when you want to go. I just arrived in Roma a few weeks ago.

Is there a local crag for rock climbing?

Ciao,

Chris

Sperolonga? Not Gran Sasso, but a wonderful area with several hundred rocky cliff (1-ptch and/or multiple pitches). More info on Private Message, if you are interested. How long time will you spend in Rome ?
