Pete, your memory seems to need refreshing. Some years ago, Matthew and I tried to get you to join us for Mopah/Umpah, at least one of which you said you "needed" but wanted some company. We bent over backwards to accommodate your schedule, but in the end you decided against it. Dunno why, maybe you thought we were frauds. I tried a second time to join up when you were thinking of doing a trip down the CA coast, around the Ventana/Santa Lucia range. So I gave up. Eventually you did have lunch with Matthew a few years later. He said you were a nice guy.

I've got plenty of money, so free lunch and luxury stays in Vegas just don't do it for me. I'm happy with motels or just sleeping in my van. I like to hike and climb, so anything that gets me more of that, I'm all for it. Send me a note and I can arrange to join you within month, if you're up for it. I'd be happy hiking whatever pace you like, so don't feel like you'd be slowing me down. Would love to have the chance to meet.

I don't quite get the Harvard fraud thing. My hikes are about as documented as they get and I've been joined by several hundred persons, all told. What more could you want?
