Helmet stickers

by rhyang » Thu Oct 01, 2009 4:35 pm

My first helmet was a petzl ecrin roc .. it has stickers from gearexpress.com, grivel north america, and probably some other crap. I just keep it in my closet as a spare these days, since it's getting on in years.

I bought a petzl elios later on, and just put a small julbo sticker on the back .. mostly to prevent confusion in case I happened to climb with someone who also wore a blue elios :)

Some of my climbing partners don't bother with stickers. A few have really colorful ones -

My latest ecrin roc is completely blank. I should probably throw something on it because one of my other ice partners has a similar blank ecrin roc ..

What stickers do you have on your climbing helmet, if any ?

Rob, I don't own a helmet.

I think the band was pretty good.

I never like to wear stuff with logos on it.

If you wish to give me the stuff and/or sponsor me with $$$ and free gear, well than I'd get one and sticker it up, NASCAR style.

(are you listening Black Diamond, Metolius, A5, Sportivea, 5.10 anybody?)

Maybe it would be better to get a custom Troy Lee paint job with flames and such....

The Karting Helmet had a custom paint job..... A great big, bloodshot eye looking back at you...

But it got destroyed by a concrete wall while going 80.

It did it's job, I only had major head trama..... now you know.

Somebody over on RC.com has a helmet with a crapload of stickers on it, the largest and most prominent reading "You can DIE climbing" or something like that. Awesome sticker -- I wish I knew where to find one.

My nephew took the Sierra Club's Wilderness Travel Course this year. His three primary instructors were three incredibly strong women, so he and some buddies formed "Team Testicle," complete with a logo and, as evidenced here, a helmet sticker.

Then you might like mine, Mike. I've got a similar Deadhead on the front, a Jerry Garcia on the side, and a Shakyamuni Buddha on the very top.

I thought it stood for "Team Tits" or "Tits Tits" before I read your commentary - the drawing under the letters looked more like tits to me...

On Interstate 20 in West Texas, there is a big sign for Texas Interstate Truck Stop, and the first letter of each word was bigger than the others, of course. I wish I had stopped to get a quick photo.

I wonder if any trucker pronounced it as just the acronym if he ever had to explain to his wife why he was late coming home because of stopping there.

They're cold enough to stay above the Petzl. If it were "tits" they would've been drawn much colder.
