I am thinking of going on a trip near horseshoe meadows in a few months. When do you think the road to the meadows is normally snow-free? Thanks in advance.

Check out the Whitney Portal Forums. Someone there should be able to tell you. Great place by the way. I hiked from Horseshoe Meadows to the Portal last summer.

The road is still closed -- I just called the Inyo County roads department. But Whitney Portal and Onion Valley roads are open.
