Hey guys! I'm thinking about climbing up Mount Adams with a friend this weekend. Anyone know about the current conditions? The national weather/avalanche forecast said there is increased danger.... Would I be ok with just iceaxe/crampons or is there enough powder where snowshoes would be required? Thanks!!
I'm not exactly sure how fast the snow consolidates up there or if Adams got less snow than the North Cascades. Personally I would bring them, I plowed through a bunch of snow on Mount Baker a week ago before the major snow dump.
I agree with Josh, we had a lot of powder on Baker last week and although Adams typically sees less snow, I will bet there is still a bunch of post-holing to be had. We were wishing we had our snowshoes and we were the only people on the mountain that day without skis!
