That's going to be expensive

This is from the CHP incident webpage. Looks like someone tried to drive up White Mountain Road in the snow. $175 an hour for the tow.

Can't say I never got stuck like that, but I can say I don't do it anymore.

Marble Peak - Anza Borrego

Does anyone have the first edition of Zdon's Desert Summits? If so, could you post a scan of the entry for Marble Peak in Anza-Borrego? The peak was dropped from the Updated Edition and I have some doubts as to the accuracy of the peak's location as identified on peakbagger.com. Thanks in advance!

Split Mountain: Tent Over 13K?

Hey Mountain Fans,

Anyone been up Split Peak and care to give some advice on if there is a plausible site to pitch a tent above or near the top of the St Jean Coulier?

We will camp at Red Lake or higher and then head up the coulier the next day - the thought is we might pitch a tent near the summit for a night. I have never been up so don't know ...
