I'm thinking about buying a nice new pair of mountaineering boots (phantom/spantik/whatever). I'm thinking about using them for snowboarding. Since my board has strap style binding, I figure they should work fine. Just wondering if anyone else does it or is it a crappy idea?

My trusted Boreals are finally in need of replacement. I am looking for a durable and warm boot to use in winter alpine conditions. Being able to climb mid-5th class rock as well as steep ice in them is paramount. Double boot is preferred since I plan to use them for multi-day trips in +15F to -20F conditions.

I have fairly narrow feet. Any recommendations?

What is the general consensus when it comes to buying used climbing gear? I've heard of people poaching cams and nuts off trad routes, but I've also heard that buying used gear from friends or online can be sketchy. Are there some guidelines that can help me cheaply fill out my gear closet?

I just bought a pair of La Sportiva Nepal EVO and am wondering whether it needs any treatment prior to use ? Do I need to treat it with any leather conditioner ? Silicone / NikWax etc ?
