Re: who makes 8.9 mm single ropes exept mammut

Lightest I've seen besides said rope are the Sterling Nano 9.2 and Beal Joker 9.1 which are both 53 g/m while the Mammut Serenity 8.9 is 52 g/m. As far as cams I suppose Metolius TCUs and Powercams although you sacrifice range versus BD Camalots.

Hunter) "Stevens Peak," after the late Senator Ted Stevens. 13,895 is the highest unnamed peak in Alaska with over 1000 feet of prominence. My question is whether it's the highest unnamed peak in the US as a whole with that much prominence--I'm thinking it is. Does anyone know for sure?

The peak ...

SPer Death on Gerlach, Slovakia

This report may be coming a little late, as I only learned of this sad news today, but on August 31, SummitPoster Edward Woo (http://www.summitpost.org/user_page.php?user_id=54013) died while on a climb of Gerlach, the highest point in Slovakia.
