I think it was 2011 or so the last time there was so much snow. When climbing 14ers it was into late May that you needed winter equipment.

Hello.

My oldest son will graduate H.S. this year and I want a 4-6 day Back Country hike through the Mountains. One that routes through a summit or two (don't have to be 14ers) and has wildlife possibilities, places to camp along the water and maybe some fishing. Basically a place to strengthen our already strong bond before he starts the next chapter in his life..

Looking for advice on an extended or partial versions of the 4 pass loop. The reports of massive crowds has me worried.

I've read a little about the Capitol Creek Circuit, but wondering if there are other options out there.

I'm looking to go snowshoeing from the Denver area and wonder if there is enough snow at the top of Kenosha Pass to warrant the use of snowshoes here at the beginning of January 2017. Happy New Year!

This week's video involves makng my way up La Plata in the midst of very high winds. Alhough it was pretty tough postholing through the snow fields above 13,000 ft, the views made it all worth it at the top. I will definitely be making it out this way again soon to hit up the other Sawatch mountains.

Has anyone hiked Whetstone? There's no official trail but apparently there are a few access points from which you can summit. Any tips would be appreciated.
