printable maps gone?

by Helga » Fri Sep 15, 2023 10:50 pm

Hi, having been absent for a long time due to injuries, I am today returning to this page finding it new and different. I used to print maps of a specific trail, but can't find my way around. Where can I print a detailed pdf trail map of a specific trail off this webpage? Or have we removed this feature? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

You can print out your own maps for the USA on the USGS.gov website. look on that dark blue bar that runs across the page with the USGS logo on the left, there's a selection called 'Products' in white lettering. Click on that then find the 'Maps' section on the drop-down menu and 'Topographic Maps' below that. You'll have to search from there, its can get a little whacky to get where you need to be, but you'll eventually get to a topo of the area you want and can download it as a pdf and print it for free. You can also order them from the USGS for a fee.

Some routes have printable maps, but only if the maintainer of the page added one.
